Looks great, tastes better: Shirley's Summer Sizzle!
7:37:00 PMHello Everybody!
Having lived in Amsterdam for eighteen years I've gotten pretty used to the cold winters and crappy summers. Most days of summer are usually spent indoors, looking through the rain covered windows with a look of desperation in the eyes, and as soon as one ray of sun breaks through, roads are packed with hour long traffic jams filled with excited people trying to get to the beach. In 2013, however, the weather has hit a new low. I think this might be the worst summer I have ever had. Let me put it this way: it is mid-July and a few days ago I took a ride on my Vespa, wearing long pants, a shirt, a sweater and a coat. Yikes.
Thankfully, the sun has come out a little the past few days and this has immediately put me in the summer spirit. One of my favorite summer memories is being on a cruise with my family when I was younger and drinking Shirley Temples all day long! That's why I've decided to do a very easy and very yummy Shirley Temple tutorial so you can all enjoy sitting in the sun with this lovely (alcohol-free) cocktail!
You'll need
- To make your Shirley Temple look extra cute, use an old canning jar instead of a glass
- Extra thick/big colored straws (I bought mine at IKEA for 90 cents)
Making your drink
Step two: fill the rest of the jar up with the soda
Step four: sit in the sun and enjoy! (it's actually quite enjoyable indoors as well ;))
Hugs and Kisses!
