Bake My Day: Peanut Butter- Nutella Cookies

5:34:00 AM

Hello Everyone!

Apart from being a full-time beauty nut, I actually do have a few other hobbies. One of those hobbies is baking. Which, to be completely honest, is not always the best hobby to have when you're trying to cut down on sweets and eat a little bit healthier. However, since I've moved into the dorms at college, I no longer have an oven (or any kind of cooking equipment for that matter) which means I can't do any baking, cooking, or anything that doesn't involve getting either junkfood from across the street or disgusting food from our Dining Commons. I'm seriously considering going on a juice fast for a while just so I don't have to eat any of this disgusting food- UGH.

Luckily I got to go home for a whole month over winter break, and as you can imagine I had a food FEAST. Of course, that also involved baking some delicious sugary goodies. Peanut Butter Cookies have always been a big favorite in my family, but this time I decided to get a little adventurous with my baking abilities and make some peanut butter- Nutella hybrid cookies. And yes, they do taste as amazing as the name suggests.

I found the recipe for the cookies I baked on sixsistersstuff.com, but I thought I'd just write you guys a post on how I made my own, seeing as everyone has their own baking tips and tricks.

Peanut Butter Nutella Cookies

You will Need

- Butter (1/2 cup)
- Brown Sugar (1/2 cup)
- Granulated Sugar (1/2 cup)
- Peanut Butter (3/4 cup)

- an Egg

- Baking Soda (3/4 tsp)
- Salt (1/4 tsp)
- Flour (1 3/4 cup)

-Nutella (as much as you want)

Baking The cookies
First put your oven on 350 degrees Fahrenheit/ 180 degrees Celcius. Next you mix your first group of ingredients (the butters and the sugars) into a bowl.
I didn't have an electric mixer so I mixed them by hand, but seeing as you need to keep mixing until the mixture is thick fluffy (which takes a while if you mix by hand) you'll probably want to use a mixer instead.

After your mixture looks like it does on the picture, mix in one egg and mix until everything is combined.

Put your second group of ingredients (the dry ingredients) in a separate bowl and add them to the other mixture. Mix the two together until everything is combined (you can do this by hand) and top everything off with one or two spoonfuls (the amount of spoonfuls depending on your personal taste) of Nutella to the mix. Keep the mix in the fridge for about 15 minutes.

After you've greased preferably two (or more) baking sheets  (you can also use the same sheet multiple times but then you just can't bake your cookies all in once) comes the tricky part. Because of the sugars the mixture has a kind of rough sandy-like texture which makes it easy to crumble but hard to roll into a little ball. If you're having too much trouble with this part just add some more peanut butter or Nutella to make your dough a little bit stickier.  Roll some small balls (the size depending on how big you want your cookies to be) and place them on a baking sheet with enough space in between, and press them down with a fork to make them flat.

Put your cookies in the oven for about 10 minutes (again, how long you leave your cookies in the oven depends completely on your personal taste. If you like your cookies gooey and soft, leave them in for about 7-8 minutes, if you like them darker leave them in for about 12. Keep an eye on the oven, and if you want to you can take the sheet out, poke in a cookie with a fork and if they still seem too raw to you just pop them back in), take them out when you think they look good and let cool for a little while- but not too long, because everyone knows cookies are the best when they're still warm- and enjoy!
So what do you guys think? Will you be trying this yummy recipe out soon? Do you like me switching things up every once in a while or should I just stick to makeup? Let me know!

Hugs and Kisses!
