London Living

Hello Everybody!

A little over a week ago, I did something very exciting: I moved to London! I've always been intrigued by the UK lifestyle, and studying in London for a semester seemed like a great way to explore this metropolitan city, all the while being a lot closer to my family. The experience has been great so far- I've made tons of friends and found that London is a great city to live in, because it's so diverse and there is just so much to do!

Hopefully I will be able to share my London adventures with you on this blog as time goes by, but for now I thought I'd give you guys a little glance of this London life by sharing with you some pictures of my new "home". Unfortunately, looking for an (affordable) flat or room in London is like looking for a needle in a haystack, and didn't work out too well for me. I ended up in a student flat called Nido, near Kings Cross station, and am currently sharing a teeny tiny room with a lovely girl named Rylee. It's a good thing we like each other because my bed is literally a meter away from her, so it would have made for a pretty rough semester if we wouldn't have gotten along.

The room came with a bedding set, but as most of you probably know I don't just settle for anything mediocre looking. For me, a big part of feeling at home lies in being comfortable in your (part of the) room, seeing as that is your little private area that you can always go back to. I like to make my part of the room feel as homely to me as possible and as much in my own taste as I know how, so that regardless of how stressed/homesick/anxious I am I can go back to a place that feels nearly 100% comfortable and maybe even a little like home.

Naturally, I pulled off the (ugly) blue striped comforter and went on a little shopping trip to a little store called Primark. I hope you enjoy the room as much as I do!
