Warzone Frenzy
8:26:00 PMAs most of you know, I have recently finished my exams and am (almost) officially no longer a high school student! I -as I know many others with me- have waited six years to say those words, but now that I can it feels kind of.. weird. I'm so used to living the same life for the past six years and the routine that came with it, that I feel a little frightened that the things that came to me as normal no longer are. Getting ready for school in the morning, chatting with my friends during classes, doodling in my notebooks and even stupid things like watching a movie in class- it's all in the past. It's not like I'm quitting school and education in general and I am super thrilled to be starting college in America in the fall, but I just know this is going to be a completely different experience and that my high school days are officially over. I didn't have the best high school experience due to bullies and friend feuds, but it still is all I've known and what I've been used to for such a long period of time and closing this chapter in my life is a really big thing.
Now let's climb out of that deep dark hole I just dug there and get on with the fun stuff. Because I am not the only one in my year who felt this way, and because it is a tradition, we ended the school year with a bang. Literally.
Most schools have senior pranks, where all graduation students pull some crazy stunts on the school without getting into (too much) trouble. Our year went above and beyond in the planning -kudos to the kids in charge by the way- and decided to go with an army themed prank. We barricaded the area behind our school with fences and made a giant obstacle course: kids from years bellow us would be lead into the gym for an intense drill sergeant type workout session, after which they were taken outside, only to be attacked by waterguns and flour while trying to run through mini blow-up baths and loads of other crazy stuff. The seniors all dressed up as sergeanty-type people and we really had a blast abusing our power for the day. We were lucky the weather was beautiful and had a great time 'bonding' and generally having fun. Below are some pictures made by a very talented photographer in my year. Oh, and no children were harmed during our prank. Well, not severely at least ;)
